Dear Readers,
After many, many months of planning, writing, rewriting, and editing, I’m very happy to announce that the result of all that work is titled, EVENINGS AT THE ARGENTINE CLUB, and will be released on September 25.
Those of you that have written to me and kindly shared how much you enjoyed my last two books, will hopefully find that though the style for my books written under my pseudonym, Julia Amante is different from the Lara Rios books, the strong emotional connection that I write between characters is not only still present, but has become the focus of the books.
What I appreciate most about the Latino culture, into which I was born, is the love of family. But what I’ve learned is that the importance of family is not a unique Latino characteristic. No matter our culture, there is nothing more precious to us than our children. There is no relationship more complex than those we share with our parents. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to write books that explore those relationships, and hope that you enjoy them and find you can relate.

All parents dream of creating a better life for their children. But sometimes, people become so blinded by ambition that they do more harm than good. This is the fate that befalls two Southern California families in this candid look at the complexities of modern American life. As one generation struggles to preserve tradition, another strives for independence. How can the members of this close-knit community find a way to live the lives they want, without hurting the ones they love. |
Thanks for your support, encouragement, and patience the last two years. I hope EVENINGS AT THE ARGENTINE CLUB was worth the wait.
Hugs,
Lara/Julia
